Dayton Martindale is a PhD candidate in environmental studies at University of Colorado Boulder, researching animal ethics and environmental politics. He is also a longtime journalist, the former associate editor of In These Times magazine, the former editor-at-large for Barn Raiser, and the host of Storytelling Animals podcast, with writing appearing in Vox, Sierra, Boston Review, Jacobin, Strange Matters, and elsewhere. He has been active in movements for animal liberation, climate justice, and his university union.
